The logo will primarily be used on album art, social media and band merch (t-shirts, etc.).
I'm open to a range of complexity in the logo, but all things equal, I would prefer logos that skew more simple/minimalist. Like something a fan would want to get a tattoo of :)
Aesthetically, thematically and lyrically, the songs try to channel Radiohead (up to OK Computer era), Car Seat Headrest, and The National, with a smattering of Weezer (Blue Album era) and Frank Ocean. The sound is primarily lo-fi electric guitar rock with some organ/mild synth highlights. Current themes include the passage of time, getting old, regret, ambivalence toward various forms of commitment, and death. Despite the heaviness of these themes, though, the songs have healthy doses of humor and mostly treat these themes in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
Attaching the current profile picture from my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/nbdawg…subscriber). For some additional inspiration, you can also check out a super-rough, still-in-progress music video rough draft at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvD…e=youtu.be.
Please also see my comments in the fields above about (1) the Korean characters "영원" and (2) the Ouroboros (the dragon eating its tail). Not a deal-breaker if both symbols aren't incorporated, but it would be awesome to incorporate one or both of those symbols in the design to the extent possible. Feel free to get creative with and visually manipulate the Korean characters as much as needed.
Update 9/5: Just added a bunch of photos of Korean stamp/seals ("dojang"), which are used to stamp your name. I like that aesthetic, so feel free to work something like that into your design. Google "korean dojang name stamp" for more inspiration.
Update 9/7: Thanks for all the great entries so far. It seems like things are going in a “red” direction, but don’t feel like you HAVE to do a red design. Please keep experimenting if you’d like. I like the red stuff but I’m not married to it. Feel free to branch out a bit in this last day of the round!
Also would love to see some more playing around with a more retro/lo-fi look!
