We provide a communication environment for professionals and news in our sector, and a marketplace. The network of contacts in this sector is the most important of the club. We seek professional conversation between them.
We have two aproximations to clubDarwin.net. We are in development process and we need a design to launch the site next febrary.
First example is http://www.bottlingworld.com.
This site was made only for news of our sector. The design is similar to new york times website. We don't want to copy this design, but we think that this is an example of seriously.
Second example is http://www.emblogtellados.com
This site has a newspaper integrated with a social network and a marketplace. It means, a user that is reading about a kind of machine can participate in comments or debates... and can go to suppliers that sell this machine through this system. We don't want to reflect that our club is the summatory of three kind of websites (newspaper website, social network and a marketplace). We are developing one new thing, one place only for people of this sector that can be informed, can buy or can participate in a transparent way, without jump over different tabs or different websites.
They are industry professionals from food and beverage sector (both direct and indirect, vendors, suppliers ...). Professionals are engineers, salespeople, managers ...
The club is by invitation because the site is exclusively for professionals contrasted.
The remaining people are going to the site by anonymous or subscribers.
The mark consists of three words.
-Club as a reference to the exclusivity of the site.
-Darwin embraces the concept of evolution on the internet for industry professionals.
-.net to give the meaning of online network
-Users are people not friendly with internet. Website must be very intuitive, easy to understand, simple.
-self explanatory. Users have a help zone often.
-It should reflect seriously, for persons 40 years and older. Example: http://www.nytimes.com
Logo was designed by a designer on 99designs:
We use the standard template called 960 with 12 columns.
This template has 12 columns of 60 px per column separated from each other by 20px for each separation (10px on each side).
The purpose of the template is able to place any block on the site starting in one of the 12 columns and using as many columns as needed, but always occupying the number of columns used in full.
A block can occupy from 1 to 12 columns, while respecting the established grid.
Initially use no more than 4 blocks per row, but this system allows us to expand in the future.
Here is the website of the 960 template with examples.
WIREFRAMES (Header is the same for every page)
- Main (Portal).
- Section. Is a specific page for a topic (a set of news about a topic)
- User. Profile page for every user.
- Marketplace. We are based in the structure of this web: http://www.snooth.com/wines/
We can start with the Portal. We are going to select a few of designs and then we will work in the rest of wireframes.
