COX SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY
The company installs low-voltage electrical systems like fire alarms, closed circuit TVs, burgler alarms, intercom systems, nurse call systems, and sound systems. Unlike most general electrical contractors, the technology in our business is constantly changing and we need to stay up with it. The business was established 75 years ago and is one of the largest of our kind in the area. Our current website does nothing to get a prospective customer excited about our capabilities.
We have two target audiences -
1) Electrical Contractors - These folks typically get a large job and bring us in to do the low-voltage work. In a recent supermarket we installed the closed circuit TVs, fire alarms, and burgler alarms while the primary electrical contractor did the routine electrical wiring.
2) End Users - Hospitals, schools, retailers, and the military often have a specific need and contact us directly. The people who do this are in the facilities construction and maintenance departments.
We are looking for a conventional home page that will impress our audience (electrical contractors and end users) with our capabilities. Recognizing that our audience is conservative and unimaginative we don't want anything that will blow them away with creativity but will rather convey a quiet competance. We will use our current logo - see our current website http://www.coxsystech.com. On the left margin we want tabs for the markets we service. Each of these will connect to a backup page where we will have some narrative. There will be two major tabs - NEW SYSTEMS and SERVICE. Under NEW SYSTEMS there will be the following tabs: Healthcare, Access Control, Closed Circuit TV, Fire Alarm Systems, Burgler Alarm Systems, PA & Intercom Systems, Sound Systems, and Clocks. There will be some general information about the company on the home page.
In looking at the home pages of other companies in our business (low voltage electrical contractors) we feel that pictures of equipment are very dull. While we need some equipment pictures, pictures of our good looking technicians doing their work and the types of facilities we service like hospitals, prisons, schools, and supermarkets are more interesting. We think that pictures of the equipment, employees, and facilities we service will be an important part of the design, both on the home page and on the backup pages.
