We first launched in 2005 and have went through 4 style changes. The brand is very well known in Irish-Australian circles. We want to mature the look and feel of the site, making it more foodie (bring the foods we sell alive) and imagery of Ireland to enforce that connection... our shoppers have emotional connection to the brands we sell, evoking powerful memories of home.
So whilst we don't want to lose the commercial importance of a shopping cart, we are niche, we boutique in the B2C channel and this quaintness / irishness will set us apart from everyday shopping carts...
Whilst the basic sturcute of the shopping cart may remain the refresh will add to the visitors experience, visually, emotionally... Facebook and social media is a strong platform for us as we build our community here...
Our multi channel business has four distinct revenue streams: (b2B) Large supermarket, Independent retailers and (B2C) Online & Warehouse Shop. We are currently developing a Retail Portal for Independent retailers to log into and access there pricing and place PO. So whilst the online shopping cart has always been the focus of tasteireland.com.au we want to leverage it to represent our entire business.
I maintain we need a home page refresh to depict a the multi channel nature of our business... a new header banner and repositioning of certain features (menu, social media, newsletter sign up etc)
Wat te vermijden
We don't want to hide the fact that most people visiting tasteireland.com.au are there to shop online.... the shopping cart look & feel needs to be manitained to help increase visitor numbers and conversion rates.
