Large music site is adding new features and cleaning up old ones. We need a very sleek, "web 2.0"-ish design.
The Authority in Free Mixtapes
Desired Color Scheme:
Similar to the current colors, we like the way they look. Please no dark layouts -- keep it light and clean
A sleeker, smoother version of the current setup
Accepted File Formats:
Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff)
I hate the term Web 2.0 as much as anyone else, but that's the best way to describe the direction the site is heading it.
Not so much Ajax usage, but a more community-oriented feeling. We would like to take the current design and make it smoother/sleeker as well as make way for new features. This will be out first time hiring an outside designer, which means we may make assumptions or omit info that you need, so if something isn't clear please ask
Here is the site:
One of the things we want to do is maximize content space (ala youtube) and add tabbed navigation to the top with submenus or perhaps just one large left or right hand column for sublinks and such.
The tabs should include Mixtapes, Videos, Singles, PodCasts, News, Community. We picture something like this: http://tinyurl.com/3awmga
There are many pages to be developed, so this contest is more for someone to submit a concept that we like so that we can then move forward with that designer to develop some of the inner pages (both new and existing). Naturally we will compensate for extra work done, but we expect this contest price to cover the work for the homepage as well as an inner page.
When entering, please provide a mockup of the homepage and the inner page (based on this page: http://tinyurl.com/3y6tly).
Remember, the site is heading in a new direction, so please don't feel constrained to follow the entire format of the current site.
*edit* here's a png of the logo to use: http://tinyurl.com/34t5kx
Please read the comments and feedback on other layouts before submitting an entry.Â
