Shopping template design

I need 2 pages designed for a shopping engine template--first page to show categories, second page to drill down and show items. I'd like something slick and easy to navigate.
Wat is jouw visie?
Desired Style: Open to different styles--however, please design as if this could be used in several different product categories Accepted File Formats: Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff) I'm looking for a two page design for a shopping template. I'll be integrating the BuildANicheStore code into the final design. You can check out the product at www.buildanichestore.com, or an example store at www.agedfurniture.com (please note: not my site). See why they need a redesign? There's no "store" feel to them at all. Feel free to design on any store idea/product mix you'd like. Also, I don't have a logo to offer yet, so please feel free to throw in any logo holder you'd like, I could adapt the logo design to fit your sizing/style/placement. I'm looking for two pages: 1) The initial index page (main page) showing the various categories available, with a graphic representation of each one. 2) A more detailed "product" page (for instance, if it was a sports memorabilia site, a "Signed Jerseys" page) that lists the individual items for sale. The Main Page The main page needs to have several features on it: - A main navigation bar - Visually show the categories - A "Hot Deals" section (showing current hot deals--bonus points for a flaming icon) - At least two spots to put affiliate offers - A "Help us improve our site" dialogue box, where people can give feedback on the site - An article box showing links to 3 articles (can be tabbed if you'd like)I really like the clean look of Amazon.com, as well as the modular look and feel of www.yotel.com (especially the slim color scheme) Feel free also to create any java or flash elements if you feel they would enhance the site as well. A main navigation bar The main navigation needs to be CSS based, and have the larger categories in it--very similar to Amazon.com's menu. Using a sports memorabilia store example, The main nav would show "Shop by Sport, Shop by Type, Shop by Team, Shop by Player" and then rolling over each section would show the submenu (Shop by Sport might then show Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, etc) Visually show the categories I'd like to have each larger category shown in the center somehow, with some of the sub categories available under it. A "Hot Deals" section (showing current hot deals--bonus points for a flaming icon) Self explanatory, a few "hot deals" shown here. At least two spots to put affiliate offers Need two places to put affiliate banners. Plan on standard web banner sizes (either rectangle or square) A "Help us improve our site" dialogue box, where people can give feedback on the site This could be an initial hidden box if space is tight. A form where someone could submit feedback on what they'd like to see on the site. Name, email and message box should be in it. An article box showing links to 3 articles (can be tabbed) This will link to 3 articles to give the site "real" content The Product Page The product page will have several features carry over from the front page, which are: - A main navigation bar - A "Hot Deals" section (showing current hot deals--bonus points for a flaming icon) - At least two spots to put affiliate offers - A "Help us improve our site" dialogue box, where people can give feedback on the siteAdditionally, it needs to have: - A center section to show the products (refer to the demo store www.agedfurniture.com for reference). Products do not need to be in the horizontal bands as in the demo, and some or all of the info can be shown. - Breadcrumb navigation to show where the user is on the siteThe main navigation bar This will be a subset of the "main" section, and show the related subsections. I like how Amazon.com has implemented this. Go to a section off of the main site, and see how the menu changes to include only the appropriate subsections. I'll provide feedback along the way, thanks for submitting a design! If there are some good designs submitted, I would definitely consider a second and third place award on designs.
