Appirio: Un-named Client
We are a global recruiting firm with many different practice areas. We primarily recruit for clients in financial services with a focus on the investment management industry but are continually expanding our client base to include high performance companies from various industries. We would like to use our website as a marketing tool for clients. It is also heavily trafficked by candidates so we need to have an easy to use registration and job board to attract the active and passive job seeker.
We need a new design for our homepage and front end pages that is clean, sophisticated and professional. Our current site is very saturated and we want the new site to be lighter and easier to read and navigate.
2 Core Audiences:
Clients – top executives from top firms in their industry, very professional and savvy, also very busy so they need to be able to get to the most important information to them quickly. Clients are mostly highly educated and from a finance background so that general feeling.
Candidates – active and passive job seekers, all ages, all industries, site needs to be appealing. Our clients demand top talent so site should have an air of sophistication to be taken seriously by the candidate.
We need the website to be easy to navigate for both audiences. Our candidates are required to register with a username and password so there needs to be a candidate login section in a prominent area on all pages.
The most important thing is to strike a balance between the two audiences visiting our site: potential clients who need to view us as experts in our field and gain confidence in our service (website used as a marketing tool) and our candidates who need easy access to the job board and a simple way to view job descriptions (attractive to active and passive job seekers).
We like the idea of a header and footer navigation scheme with the header tabs being the most important. Content in the middle should be kept simple.
Color Scheme – We are open to 2 color schemes: navy/white and black/silver/white and would like to see samples of both before deciding. We need the colors to be slick and professional. We have included a sample of our logo – Ignore the font used on the sample logo and the royal blue color; use the colors identified above to design.
Font – no preference. Clean and easy to read is the only requirement.
Pictures/Graphics – we do not want the images to detract from the content. We obviously want design elements but the use of photos/images should be kept to a minimum.
What we would like to see:
Homepage – we have discussed a very simple landing page (http://www.cravath.com), with our logo
Subpages focused on the audience (perspective clients vs. candidates).
Sites we like:
http://www.cravath.com (homepage is great everything else too simple)
http://www.pamelaeinarsen.com (business is photography so not totally applicable – we would have text instead of photographs but like the look, very clean)
http://www.linkedin.com (easy to navigate, not sophisticated enough for us)
Included is a full reqs doc for more detail if needed.
