GroundSwell will be a surf park development company bringing wave pools for surfing and other to cities in North America. This may be a stand-alone product offering a sports and recreation, park-like setting, but will likely also feature a retail surf shop and restaurant. The surf park may also be a part of a larger, commercial mixed-use development also offering residential condos, clubhouse, retail shops, and possibly office space. The development may also host events, bands, etc. The style of the development would be modern or minimalist with an initiative of social and environmental sustainability. The target market will obviously be for surfers, but also affluent younger families, active-sports enthusiasts, and young professionals- especially entrepreneur minded start-up types. I’d like a logo featuring the whole name, which should look good and not take up too much space on the side of a building as well as looking good on the back of a t-shirt. Also, I would like a smaller logo which would look nice centered on a square or circle using the same theme with just the letters GS for use as an icon and/or bumper sticker decal.
I want to leave it up to the consumer to interpret what groundswell and the accompanying wave is, but an additional note is that, in surfing, a groundswell is when waves (usually pretty good ones) are created by a water surge from a storm typically far offshore. We are also using this as a play on words because our artificial wave developments will be mostly inland, essentially creating a swell from the ground.
