The core philosophy behind HardStop is centered on the \"active decision.\" Most screen-time tools are passive or easy to ignore. HardStop is designed to be a high-friction intervention for high-friction habits. It shifts the user’s mindset from mindlessly scrolling to making a conscious, deliberate choice to reclaim their sleep and mental clarity.
The design uses a \"Dark Mode First\" aesthetic to reduce eye strain and signal to the brain that it is time to wind down. By using high-contrast blue accents against a deep charcoal background, the interface feels both authoritative and calming.
Design Breakdown
The Power of the \"Hard Stop\": The main interface (Screen 1) features bold, uncompromising typography. The phrase \"Stop scrolling. Make the decision now\" acts as a psychological pattern interrupt. It doesn't ask the user to \"consider\" a break; it demands a choice.")
